    In high-level discussion meetings with the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education and the Ministry of Energy (MoE), the director of GIZ/EnDev Sierra Leone emphasizes the need to integrate concerted efforts to accelerate actions for clean cooking energy compact for Sierra Leone.     Research has shown that more than 97% of energy use for cooking in Sierra Leone comes from fuelwood and charcoal, only 1% of energy comes from liquefied petroleum gas (Afrigas), and the remaining percentage comes from other sources of biomass. The endeavor has had several stakeholder engagements on how Sierra Leone can improve on the use of fuel-efficient cookstoves, but also, how to sustainably produce charcoal and fuel.
